Method

For Creamy Chicken Soup: Place seasoned chicken tenders, canned cream of chicken soup, frozen sliced carrots, and frozen edamame into your small slow cooker. Add minced garlic.

    ~5 mins

Tip: Season chicken with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika before adding

  2. 2

Cook on Low for 4–5 hours or High for 3–4 hours until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender.

    ~4 hrs

Tip: Cooking time depends on size of slow cooker and chicken tenders

  3. 3

In the final 30 minutes of cooking, stir in fresh spinach and allow it to wilt.

    ~5 mins
  4. 4

Serve hot, topped with crackers for crunch.

    ~5 mins
  5. 5

For Corn Casserole: Mix sweetcorn kernels, creamed corn, Jiffy cornbread mix, sour cream, salt, and pepper in a bowl until well combined.

    ~10 mins
  6. 6

Brush the inside of your small slow cooker with the melted butter.

    ~2 mins
  7. 7

Pour the corn mixture into the slow cooker.

    ~2 mins
  8. 8

Cook on High for 4 hours, or until the mixture is set and golden on top.

  9. 9

In the final 15 minutes, sprinkle grated mature Cheddar over the top and allow to melt.

    ~5 mins

    ~5 mins

Tip: You may wish to line the slow cooker with foil for easier removal

    ~3 hrs 30 mins

Tip: Use a meat thermometer to check doneness

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, these recipes can be doubled or tripled, but you will need a larger slow cooker. Small single-serving slow cookers (typically 1–2 litres) are designed for individual portions. If scaling up, use a family-sized cooker and adjust cooking times slightly — the food may cook a bit faster with more volume. Monitor progress and check for doneness earlier than the stated time
