slowcookerrecipes.org.uk is a recipe website publishing slow cooker recipes adapted from publicly available YouTube videos. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
2. Data we collect
- Comments: Name, optional email address, and comment content. Email addresses are never displayed publicly.
- Ratings: A hashed version of your IP address to prevent duplicate ratings. The raw IP address is never stored.
- Analytics: If enabled, Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data (pages viewed, session duration, device type). No personally identifiable information is shared.
- Server logs: Standard web server access logs (IP address, browser, pages accessed) retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
3. How we use your data
- To display your comments on recipe pages (after moderation approval)
- To prevent duplicate ratings from the same user
- To improve the site based on anonymous usage analytics
- To respond to your enquiries when you contact us
4. Cookies
We use minimal cookies — primarily for analytics (if enabled) and session management. YouTube embeds on recipe pages may set their own cookies when you choose to play a video. We use the youtube-nocookie.com domain to reduce this tracking.
5. Third-party services
- YouTube (Google LLC): Video embeds. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Analytics: Anonymous site analytics. Can be disabled in your browser settings.
- Vercel: Hosting infrastructure.
