Ingredients

- 500 g Beef mince, browned in a separate pan
Brown the meat before adding to the slow cooker for better flavour
- 400 g Tinned tomatoes
2 tins recommended
- 400 g Tinned kidney beans, drained and rinsed
2 tins recommended
Aromatics
- 1 medium Onion, finely diced
- 3 cloves Garlic cloves, minced
Seasonings
- 2 tbsp Chilli powder
Adjust to taste
- 1 tsp Cumin
- to taste Salt and black pepper
Optional garnish
- 100 g Cheddar cheese, grated(optional)
Add just before serving
- 150 ml Soured cream(optional)

- 15 g Fresh coriander, chopped(optional)

Heat a little oil in a large frying pan over a medium-high heat. Brown the beef mince, breaking it up as it cooks, until no pink remains. Drain off excess fat and transfer to your slow cooker.

Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the slow cooker along with the browned beef.

Stir in the tinned tomatoes, drained kidney beans, chilli powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on Low for 8 hours or on High for 5 hours. The chili should be rich, flavourful, and the meat very tender.
