You can use a rice cooker for brown rice. You just need to add a llttie more water and it takes a llttie more time.For white rice I use 1.5 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.For brown rice I use 1.75 cups of water for 1 cup of brown rice.I like using a rice cooker because the cooker will automatically switch from cook to warmer mode, but I've used a sauce pan and it's worked too.

  • 12 oz (340g) artichoke hearts (marinated)
  • non-stick cooking spray
  • 8 oz (225g) cream cheese cubed
  • 4 oz (110g) sliced black olives
  • 1 cup crabmeat (lump)
  • cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 onions chopped
  • cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
  • ⅔ cup frozen spinach
  • red bell pepper chopped
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • salt
  • pepper


  • Spray the cooking spray inside the slow cooker.
  • Place all the ingredients in the slow cooker and mix.
  • Cover and cook for 1 to 2 hours over low heat.
  • Stir until well blended.
  • Leave the setting to keep warm all day, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve with bread if desired.
