  • 1.5 lb (700 g) hot Italian sausage without casing
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 2 cans stewed tomatoes
  • 3 cups potatoes diced
  • 1 cups chopped onions


  • In a large greased frying pan or skillet, scramble-fry the sausage for about 12 minutes on Medium-High setting.
  • Drain and transfer the contents to a 3.5-4L slow cooker.
  • Add tomatoes, potato, 1 cup of water and sprinkle with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Stir, cover and cook for 6 to 7 hours on Low or 3- 3 hours on High.
  • Stir in cabbage, cover and cook for 1 hour on High until cabbage is tender.
