Ingredients

  • 5-6 whole cloves
  • 4 lb (2kg) pork roast
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 onions divided and sliced
  • 470 ml (16 fl oz) barbecue sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • Put one sliced of onion in the bottom part of your slow cooker.
  • Put the cloves to the pork roast and season with salt and pepper.
  • Put the roast in the slow cooker and top with sliced onion.
  • Add the remaining sliced of onion and fill the slow cooker with water, just about 2/3 of the way.
  • Cover and cook for 8 to 12 hours over low heat.
  • Remove the roast from the slow cooker.
  • Remove and discard the cloves, onions, fat and bones.
  • Allow the pork roast to cool.
  • Pull the pork roast apart and shred using your fork fingers.
  • Put the shredded pork roast back to the slow cooker, make sure to remove its grease free.
  • Stir in chopped onion and barbeque sauce.
  • Add 2 cups of water.
  • Cover and heat for 1-3 hours over high heat until onions are soft.
  • Serve.
