Mellow spiced-flavour golden colour casserole is easy to prepare. Serve this dish with dried fruits. Perfect for supper!


  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoon plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon tumeric
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 large onion
  • 2-3 garlic cloves (chopped)
  • 4 clove pieces
  • 1 piece of root ginger finely chopped
  • 450ml ( pint) chicken stock
  • 125g (4oz) young spinach
  • salt & pepper


  1. Preheat your cooker. Use your knife to place slithers into the chicken 2 or 3 times. Mix flour, turmeric and paprika on one plate. Use mix to coat chicken.
  2. Heat oil in frying pan and add chicken. Fry until brown on both sides. Place on plate and add onion and garlic. Fry stir for 5 minutes until light brown.
  3. Stir remaining spiced flour and add cloves, ginger, stock, and salt and pepper. Bring to a boil.
  4. Place chicken in cooker and pour stock mixture. Replace the lid and let cook for 8-9 hours.
  5. Add spinach 20 minutes before serving.
