The combination of Pea and Ham and other spices makes a soup extra special. A good meal to start a day.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340g) smoked ham
  • 4 cups chicken stock
  • 2 carrots chopped finely
  • 2 onions chopped finely
  • 2 cups split greens
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped finely
  • 2 thyme sprigs
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 turnip chopped finely
  • peas rinsed and drained

Steps:

  • In a slow cooker, place the turnip, ham hock, onion, celery, carrot, turnip, celery, peas, thyme, bay leaves and 4 cups of water.
  • Cover and cook for 8 hours on Low until the ham falls off the bone.
  • Take the ham bones and meat off the slow cooker. Allow to cool.
  • When cooled, cut the meat that are still attached to the bones.
  • Cut all meat into small pieces.
  • Bring the meat back to the slow cooker.
  • Add salt and pepper.
  • Transfer into serving bowls.
  • Serve.
