Cooking time: 1 hour on High setting followed by 1 hour on Low setting

This recipe requires a little more attention than some slow cooker recipes, but itís still far easier to make than most candy recipes. Make with or without nuts, or substitute an equal amount of another favourite nut for lovely homemade chocolate candy. If you serve wine with these, choose a sweet dessert wine. A non-sweet wine could leave a bitter or sour taste.

Ingredients:

  • 900 g (2 lbs) white almond bark
  • 120 g (4 oz) bar German chocolate
  • 340 g (12 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 700 g (24 oz) dry-roasted peanuts or other nuts

Steps:

  1. Place all ingredients into slow cooker. Cover and cook for 1 hour on High setting.
  2. Reduce slow cooker setting to Low.
  3. Cook for 1 more hour, stirring gently every 15 minutes.
  4. Drop teaspoon amounts onto waxed paper to make individual candies. Allow to cool.
  5. When cool, remove from wax paper and store in a tightly covered container.
