Slow Cooker Size
Served with asparagus or broccoli and toasted garlic bread, this
simple dish brings a hint of Italy to your kitchen. A side of sautéed
mushrooms is also delicious with this dish. If you’re having wine with
dinner, try a Riesling, or an Australian Zweigelt.
7 cupshot water
(Use the slow cooking kind, not quick-cooking.)
½ teaspoonground pepper
3 cupsshredded sharp cheddar cheese
In slow cooker, mix together water, polenta, olive oil, salt,
and pepper until blended.
Stir in cheese.
Cover and cook on High setting for 2 hours, or until most of the
liquid is absorbed.
Stir well. When it’s done, it should have a consistency similar
to thick cooked cereal.
