Ingredients

  • 15 oz (400g) ground pork
  • 2 garlic cloves crushed
  • large cabbage
  • 2 bacon slices, sliced thinly
  • 2 cups tomato passata (pureed tomatoes)
  • 1 cup par-cooked short-grain rice
  • 1 egg beaten lightly
  • cup seasoned stuffing mix
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 onion diced
  • cup red wine
  • teaspoon white pepper

Steps:

  • In a large heatproof bowl, place the cabbage and cover with boiling water. Leave to soak for 5-10 minutes.
  • Transfer into a bowl with cold water.
  • Mix the rice, mustard, stuffing mix, egg, garlic, onion, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and pork in a bowl.
  • Add 1 tablespoon vinegar.
  • Spoon the mixture to the cabbage leaf. Use the larger cabbage leaves.
  • Roll the cabbage up around the pork mixture.
  • Shred the remaining cabbage leaves and put them in the slow cooker base.
  • Place the cabbage rolls and the bacon.
  • Add the tomato passata and remaining vinegar.
  • Cook for 2   hours on High.
  • Serve.
