Preparation time:
Slow Cooker Size 3.5L+
Serves: 6
Cooking time:

  • 4 cups French bread cubes toasted
  • 600 ml (18 fl oz) milk - scalded and cooled slightly
  • 2 egg beaten
  • cup sugar
  • teaspoon cinnamon
  • a dash of nutmeg and

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • cup raisins - optional (you can also use apples if you prefer)
  • whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for the garnish.

  • To prepare, you need to lightly butter the slow cooker and after that add the bread cubes carefully to the cooker.
  • In a small mixing bowl, use a whisk to combine the milk that you have scalded, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, vanilla, and the melted butter.
  • Once all ingredients are together, pour the milk mixture over the bread cubes then add the raisins, or the apples, if you wish to do so.
  • You will need to absorb the milk mixture using all the bread pieces therefore you need to press them down very well using a large spoon or spatula carefully. When doing this, it is very important that you do not stir them together.
  • Cook on low for 5-6 hours making sure that you have covered the food. Cook until the pudding has set and serve it with a yummy frozen vanilla ice cream that is sure to bring a giant smile to your baby's little face.
  • Recipe End
