This recipe is best if cooked slowly. Try and see among yourselves.

Ingredients

  • 15 oz (400g) tinned chopped tomatoes
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste (tomato puree)
  • 2.8 lb (1.2kg) chuck steak
  • 2 celery stalks, cut into 2 cm ( inch) dice
  • 1 onion cut into 2 cm ( inch) dice
  • 2 tablespoons horseradish
  • 1 beetroot peeled and cut into wedges
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • small cabbage cut into 2 cm ( inch) dice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped flat-leaf
  • 1 cups beef stock
  • cup sour cream
  • lemon juice
  • Italian parsley chopped

Steps:

  • Trim the fat off the beef and cut into 2 cm ( inch) cubes.
  • Place the celery, onion, cabbage, beetroot, tomatoes, tomato paste, stock, vinegar and beef in the slow cooker.
  • Cook for 3 hours on High.
  • Remove the cover and continue to cook for another 1 - 2 hours on High.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
  • In a bowl, mix the horseradish with our cream.
  • Add lemon juice and salt.
  • Garnish with horseradish cream and chopped parsley then serve.
